Students will travel to Ghana and collect dragonflies for 4-5 weeks, then return to New York City to process specimens at the American Museum of Natural History for an additional 4 weeks. Students will be required to participate for the entirety of the program.

Applicants must be 1) U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or permanent residents of the United States, 2) be in good academic standing and currently enrolled in an undergraduate 4-year degree program, and 3) will have undergraduate status at the time of travel. Students will be required to upload a personal statement, CV/resume, unofficial transcripts, and two letters of recommendation.

Applications for Summer 2025 will be accepted starting August 2024.  Students accepted in the program will be notified by early January 2025.

Preference will be given to applicants who clearly describe the potential for professional and personal growth they would achieve through participation in this IRES program.
